Review for Decks LA, Neal Franson

BOTTOMLINE: Scott and I are extremely happy and satisfied with Neal Franson’s work! I cannot recommend him strongly or more highly!
He single-handedly built two structures for us—a 50+’ wide x 12’ deep Trex pool deck with a huge cabinet for our deck furniture cushions and another 15’ wide cabinet for our pool deck screens which we take down during the winter months. Oh, he also had to incorporate the directions for the custom deck screens we purchased from a company in Canada. (The screens were a little pricey but solidly built, easy to put up and take down and look elegant! Well worth the investment!) The project also included his building a structure made from Trex which enclosed (i.e., hid!) our unsightly pool equipment! Neal built a small kitchen area where he installed electricity for the small outdoor refrigerator we have and well as putting in a small sink. I think the project took about 2 months. Demolishing the existing deck, digging and creating the deck’s foundation took a while. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the deck!
The second project he did for us was removing and replacing, again, with the same Trex material, a deck around the back of our house where our Master bedroom is located. Another MAJOR SOLID, LOVELY, WELL BUILT project! This project was done about in about 4 weeks about Nov-Dec 2019.
What I so deeply appreciate and value about working with Neal is that he is:
· Experienced
· He listened to the thoughts we had about the projects and spoke with us about how he intended to address them. An important factor for us was building structures which could withstand the 70-80 mph winds in our area.
· His price was very reasonable
· Reliable, honest and trustworthy – (Sounds a little “Boy Scout-y”) He would show up each day about 8a-ish and leave about 5p-ish.
· He always cleaned/tidied up the area at the end of the day
· He is so incredibly pleasant to speak with!
